

Antonio Cereceres “Grandpa” was born February 18, 1929, at 2:25 a.m. in El Paso, Texas to Atilano and Dolores Cereceres. On August 7, 2010 “Grandpa”, as he is fondly and lovingly known by everyone, peacefully took his last breath at 1:58 p.m. and left this earth to be with his heavenly Father.
Grandpa, will be especially missed by his wife Maria O. Cereceres; his sons, Enrique C. Duarte, and Antonio Cereceres, Jr. (Joyce), as well as his daughter Patricia D. Cereceres. Grandpa was the “best” Grandpa anyone could ever have. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his grandchildren, Enrique M. Duarte, Julie Duarte, Nicholas Cereceres, Bryana Cereceres, Faith Duarte, Stacy Cereceres, Krystal Duarte and Dylan Cereceres and one great-granddaughter, Sabrina Cereceres. He also leaves behind one brother, Atilano Cereceres of El Paso, TX along with numerous nieces and nephews. Grandpa moved to Corpus Christi 8 years ago and became a very special member of his extended South Texas family, who loved him and will miss him dearly.
Antonio worked as an asbestos insulator in the Southwest region of the United States for well over 30 years. He was a member of the International Association of the Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Union Local 76 of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, August 13, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with inurnment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the 4th floor Telemetry Unit nursing staff at Bay Area Heart Hospital. A special thanks to Dr. Baldemar Covarrubias for his many years of care.
