

Apolonio J. Lopez went home to be with his heavenly Father on August 4, 2012 at the age of 97 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 9, 1915 in Taylor, Texas to Felipe R. Lopez and Esnea Jimenez Lopez. He started his military career in the US Army and ended his career in the US Navy after 22 years of service. Apolonio was also affiliated with the Masonic Order, Fraternal Order of the Woodsmen of the World, a member of the Shriners and was a Police Reserve for many years. Apolonio was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Esperanza L. Lopez; daughter, Marie L. Burton and son, Virgil L. Lopez; parents, Felipe and Esnea Lopez; brothers and sisters, Esteban, Dionicio, Dora, Esnea, Juanita, Esquiel, Felicita Lopez, Mary Molina and Clementina Basaldu.
Apolonio leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Fay L. Lopez; grandson, Damien Adam Burton; brothers, Eliseo and Felipe Lopez.
Public visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that evening. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly Chapel. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
