She was born in Akron, Ohio in 1920 to Charles W. and Frances A. Wise, graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art, married Henry Schlenk III and moved to Corpus Christi in 1951 where he established the Better Business Bureau. After Mr. Schlenk’s death in 1968 she married Lloyd Brewer, a home designer, who died in 1994.
A fashion illustrator, she worked at AdCraft Advertising Agency and in the advertising departments of Lichtenstein’s and Fedway’s. An accomplished pianist/organist, she played for many local church services, including 12 years at the Protestant Chapel at NAS-CC, Temple Beth El and St. Luke’s UMC. Her hobby was needlepoint and her designs are featured in several South Texas churches. She was an Honorary Member and Past President of the Thursday Music Club and served on the boards of the CC Interfaith Council and the CC International Competition for Piano & Strings.
Arline is survived by son, Henry Schlenk IV of Port Haywood, VA, daughter, Pam Schlenk of Anchorage, AK and step-sons, Douglas Brewer of Williamsport, PA and Larry Brewer of Williamsburg, VA.

A Celebration of Arline’s life will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3151 Reid Dr., Corpus Christi, TX.
