

Arnoldo Perez Carrillo Sr., lovingly known as “Nono,” passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at the age of 81. A lifelong Texan, Arnoldo was born on August 24, 1944, in Benavides, Texas, and made his home in Alice, Texas, where he built a life centered on family, friendship, hard work, and service to others.
After earning his GED, Arnoldo proudly joined the United States Air Force in 1965, where he trained as a paratrooper. He carried the lessons, friendships, and experiences gained during his military service with pride throughout his life.
Arnoldo worked as a sheriff in Dallas, Texas, before pursuing his entrepreneurial dream as the founder of ABC House Moving Company. He was known for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was also an active member of various local organizations and took great pride in serving his community.
On September 12, 2009, Arnoldo married the love of his life, Amelia Magdalena Perez. Together they shared many happy years filled with love, laughter, family gatherings, and cherished memories.
A true outdoorsman, Arnoldo's greatest passion was ranching in Alice, Texas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, barbecuing, and spending time outdoors. He loved music, dancing, storytelling, and making people laugh. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, he could often be found enjoying a game with family and friends.
Arnoldo was the heart of every gathering. He was famous for cooking cabrito, sharing stories, and bringing joy wherever he went. Family and friends knew that when Arnoldo arrived, the party had truly begun. His warmth, humor, and ability to connect with people ensured that he never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eusebio Carrillo Sr. and Esther Perez Carrillo; his brothers, Jose Gilberto Carrillo Sr., Horacio Carrillo Sr., Oscar Carrillo Sr., and Raul Carrillo; his sisters, Minerva Guerrero and Artemia Otra; his children, Celia Carrillo and Arnoldo Carrillo Jr.; and his beloved wife, Amelia Magdalena Perez.
He is survived by his children, Marta (Mando) Villanueva, Ludivina Aguilar, JoAnn (Luis) Gonzalez, Jose Eusebio (Veronica) Carrillo, Carlos Ricardo Carrillo, Sylvia (Robert) Carrillo-Trevino, Mary Esther Carrillo, Mary Esther Carrillo, Mary Alice Carrillo, Arnoldo Carrillo Jr. (Alice), Laura Cuellar, Joe Angel, Cynthia Carrillo, Christina Cox, Pablo Cuellar, Vanessa Guerra, and Roland Guerra; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Meridian Care of Alice, Texas, for their compassionate care and dedication during Arnoldo's final days. They also offer special thanks to their sister, JoAnn Gonzalez, whose love, attention, and devotion helped ensure his comfort and peace.
Arnoldo's legacy of faith, service, hard work, laughter, and love will continue to live on through all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and community.
A Religious Ceremony will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 540 Hiawatha St, Corpus Christi, TX 78405, US, on June 18, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
A Committal Service will be held at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 I-37, Corpus Christi, TX 78410, US, on June 18, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
