

He attended Roy Miller High School and he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1964 and served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded a Purple Heart Medal and was discharged as a sergeant in 1970. He became a private investigator and owned Arthur Meru Investigations. He had a passion for martial arts and fishing.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, and the mother of his children, Deborah Meru. He is survived by 3 daughters, Rita and Lana Meru and Raquel Birkey, granddaughters, Luna, Ketsia Rodriguez and Madison Birkey, grandson, Wesley Birkey, sister, Tina Rodriguez, brother, Felix Meru, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and business associates.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship, 6602 S. Staples, Corpus Christi, TX, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service led by Pastor Leavell at 6:30 p.m. till 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
