Aurora Naranjo Martinez

Aurora N. Martinez, age 81, of Taft, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025. She was born on August 20, 1944, in Taft, Texas, where she spent her life surrounded by family, friends, and community.

Aurora was best known for being a loving and devoted mother and matriarch who placed her children and family at the center of her world. She was strong-willed, outspoken, and never afraid to say exactly what was on her mind. Her family fondly remembers her long talks, her candid opinions, and the honesty she shared with everyone she met—qualities that made her both unforgettable and deeply loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Zaragoza; her children Petra Gonzales, Maria Angelica Plazola, Francisco Hiracheta, and Robert Hiracheta; her grandson, Tino Reyes; and granddaughters Mireyna & Franceska Villegas . She was also preceded in death by several siblings.

Aurora is survived by her loving children, Linda Hiracheta, Chris Reyes, and Palmira Reyes. She is also survived by her sisters Delia Jaime, Delfa Moreno, Lucia Carrera, and Vingie Esquivel, and her brothers Zaragoza, Arturo, and Thomas Naranjo.

Aurora leaves behind a large and cherished legacy of family, including over 25 grandchildren, beginning with her eldest grandson, Ricardo Hiracheta; over 55 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, Marcel Gamez and Mila Blue Trevino.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all family members and friends for their love, support, and care during this difficult time.

Aurora’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched with her honesty, devotion, and unwavering love for her family.
