Baldemar "Balde" Garcia

He graduated from San Diego High School in 1949. Baldemar enlisted in the Air Force serving in the Korean War Conflict where he earned the rank of Sergeant.

He married his wife, Christina, on December 21, 1952. Baldemar was employed by Corn Products, Inc. where he retired. He also worked as a Deputy Constable for Nueces County, Security Supervisor for National Guard Armory and retired in 1994.

Balde was his sons little league coach, mentoring his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Balde will be known for being a great husband and father to all his family. He was a talented musician and singer of which developed into a passion of hand crafting guitars with a specialty in making bajos sextos. Balde was a jack of all trades and quite a handy man. Baldemar was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.

He will always be remembered for the love of his family, fellowship with others, and festive gatherings.

Balde is preceded in death by his sister Berta and brother, Balmore; children, Ronaldo Garcia and Eyvonne G. Salazar;

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Christina; children, Balde Jr. (Gloria), Bobby (Sandra) and Lizzy; sisters, Belia and Estela; brothers, Baldomero and Eldelmiro; grandchildren, Kristin, Matthew, Marisa, Carmen, Dusty, Alex, Zach, Bobby Jr., Esme, Jose Luis, Elyssa, Maddie, Josh and 8 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jose Luis Salazar II, Hector Gonzalez, Joshua Benavidez, Eddie Garcia, Zach Garcia and Jody Solis.

Honorary Pallbearers are Matthew Garcia, Bobby Garcia Jr., Jessie Ruiz, Sincere Gonzalez, and Jose Luis Salazar III.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm. at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.
