Beatrice Alvarado - devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, grandmother, and friend to many passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 13, 2026, at the age of 79, in her hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Born on May 16, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Beatrice was the daughter of the late Jesus G. Martinez and Maria Luisa Martinez.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Rosanne (Tomas) Moreno and Diane (George) Hinojosa; her brothers, Ceasar J. Martinez and Carlos P. Martinez (Lala); and her sister, San Juan Allen (Raymundo). She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Nicholas (Valerie) Hinojosa, Imogen-Blue Hinojosa, Raven Moreno, Savannah (Abdiel) Zapata, Fernando Moreno, Karalynne Moreno, Alexandria Moreno, Tomas (Marisol) Moreno, Obed Moreno, Phillip Hernandez, and Ema Hernandez; and great-grandchildren: Jesus Moreno, Elias Moreno, Christian Moreno, Derek Hinojosa, Zaelah Hinojosa, and Trevor Hinojosa.
She was welcomed into heaven by her beloved husband, Alejandro Alvarado Jr.; her parents; and her brothers, Antonio L. Martinez and Jesus B. Martinez.
Known affectionately by many names, including “Coach B,” “Auntie Bea,” and of course, “Granny,” Beatrice was a woman who radiated love, kindness, and laughter.
As an elementary school coach, she touched the lives of countless students throughout the years, many of whom continued to share stories and memories of the impact she made long after leaving her gym.
Beatrice lived a full and meaningful life as a dedicated mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She loved dancing to her favorite oldies music, enjoying a Chick-fil-A sandwich, and most importantly, spending time with her family, whom she loved deeply.
She always showed up for the people she loved - whether it was attending her grandchildren’s special events, offering a listening ear, sharing a joke to make someone laugh, or wrapping loved ones in one of her unforgettable hugs. Her laughter could fill a room, and her hugs could make everything feel okay.
Though she will be deeply missed, she leaves behind a lifetime of memories that her family will cherish forever.
Special thanks to Gifted Hands and Nurses on Wheels for their gentle and loving care.
