Beatrice B. Martinez

Beatrice B. Martinez, 82, went to join her heavenly father after a sudden illness on Saturday, February 26, 2022. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 18, 1939. She was a homemaker since her marriage in 1953 and raised 9 beautiful children. She was a very independent woman who paved the way for her legacy, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was competitive, strong-willed, and always willing to protect her family. Her favorite hobby was playing bingo and the slot machines; she loved to win big! Her memory will be forever remembered to all who loved her. Beatrice was preceded in death by her loving husband Gilberto Martinez, parents, Alberto Bocanegra and Paula Solis, daughters, Lucy Lynn, Liza, and son, Edward Martinez Sr., Daughter-in-law Olga Martinez, brothers, Theodoro, Abel, Alberto, sisters: Beatrice, Fidela, Isabel, and Josephina; great grandchildren, Cayden Ryan Naranjo, and Alek Xander Martinez. She is survived by her children: Linda Ann Jaimes (Guadalupe), Francisco Martinez (Josie), Leticia Martinez-Rangel (Roger), Laura M. Valdez (Ruben), Lydia M. Trevino (Roy) from McAllen, Texas, Jesus Alberto Martinez (Alma), and Cecilia Metoyer from Canada, (who she considered her daughter), 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her granddaughters: Liza Naranjo, Veronica Martinez, Lori Ann Valdez, Vanessa Jaimes, Jessica Valdez, Lucy Hernandez, Ashley Martinez, Sandy Sanchez, and Erica Martinez.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 5:00pm-9:00pm and a Vigil Service/Rosary at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 10:00am Holy Family Catholic Church 2509 Nogales St., Corpus Christi, Texas with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., Corpus Christi, TX.
