Beatrice G. Martinez

Beatrice G. Martinez, age 79, of Corpus Christi Texas went to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 27, 2012 with her family by her side. She was born October 19, 1932 in Victoria, Texas to Lorenzo and Maria Garcia.

Beatrice worked for Spohn Hospital for several years. She loved to cook for her family and always welcomed family and friends to her home. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed socializing with the ladies at the Arbor Daycare Center. She cared for her youngest daughter, Flora with love, affection and strength for 45 years developing a very close and unique mother-daughter relationship. She treasured the times with her brother, Lorenzo and his wife Eusebia. They spent time together visiting, sharing stories, drinking coffee and bonding together.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Arturo G. Martinez, her parents; her brother, Andres Garcia, three sisters, Juanita Guajardo, Maria Louisa Hernandez and Cecilia Garcia.She is survived by her children: Gloria (Leo) Delatorre, Arturo D. (Emma) Martinez, RosaLinda Ford, Daniel (Veronica) Martinez, Mary Beatrice (Albert) Diaz, Flora Martinez and her loving brother Lorenzo (Eusebia) Garcia. She will be dearly missed by her 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Family will be receiving friends on Monday, October 1, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Funeraria del Angel Chapel, with a burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Lawrence Ford, James Ford, Atom Martinez, Erik Delatorre, Daniel Martinez II, Robert Lara, Albert Garcia, Lorenzo Garcia III and Albert Diaz, Sr.

The family would like to give acknowledgement and gratitude to the CCU staff at Spohn Memorial Hospital for the loving care given to Our mother.
