Carmen Reyna Huerta, age 84, passed away on July 3, 2015. She was born on December 16, 1930 to Apolinar and Maria Reyna in Bastrop, Texas. She was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-great-great grandmother.
Carmen was a wonderful cook and had work at local restaurants. Her pride was her family and she enjoyed family activities and gardening. Carmen was also a woman of faith.
She is preceded in death by a son, Jose Gerardo Huerta.
She is survived by her husband Jose Huerta Martinez, sons; Jose A. Huerta, Cesar G. Huerta, Francisco J. Huerta, Oscar Huerta, Humberto Huerta, Reynaldo M. Huerta, Jesus Rey Huerta and two daughters; Juana Huerta, Carmen L. Huerta, and two sisters; Juanita Reyna and Aurora Reyna.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne Street with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. that same evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
