Carolyn Ann May

Carolyn Ann May, 82, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026. She was born on July 15, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, to her parents, Clifton Odrew May and Clara Agusta Bahn May.

Carolyn was known for her warm heart, lively spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. She worked for many years at Stripes, where she formed lasting friendships with both coworkers and customers. She truly enjoyed visiting with people and brightening their day.

She loved dancing, capturing memories through photographs at family gatherings, and spending time with the people she loved most. Carolyn especially cherished family river trips to the Frio and vacations to Fredericksburg, Texas. During the holidays, her family always looked forward to her famous sweet rice, a tradition that brought everyone together around the table.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her oldest daughter, Vonnie Holleman; her beloved companion, R.B. Spruill; her son-in-law, Glenn Ladd; and her sister, Kathy Huth.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Doug and Kay Buendel, Brenda Shumate, Jeffery Buendel and Tim Dunklin, and Nancy Buendel Ladd; her brother, Charlie Hart; as well as 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, laughter, and family traditions will live on through all who knew and loved her.

Carolyn will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
