Charles "Buddy" Dwayne Barganski

Charles “Buddy” Dwayne Barganski, USMC MSgt Retired, age 74, passed away Sunday May 6th, 2018 after a lengthy battle with Leukemia. Born July 17, 1943, in Aransas Pass, TX, he was the son of Leonard and Juanita Barganski. Buddy is survived by a wife, D’Ann, two children: daughter Cassie Backhurst and her husband Jason, son Brandon Barganski and his wife Jessica; seven grandchildren: Charles “Chaz”, Victoria “Tori”, Christopher, Zachary, Lorelei, Liam and Linden; one great grandchild: Grayson. One Sister: Marsha Barganski. One Brother: Robert Barganski. Preceded in death one daughter: Tara. Buddy also has a large extended family in the South Texas Area. Buddy grew up in Gregory Portland prior to joining the Marine Corps. During his 22 yrs. 8 months with the Marines he was accredited with the following: M-16 Rifle Expert Badge, .45 Caliber Pistol Sharpshooter Badge, Air Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation w/1 star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry w/1 star, Combat Aircrew Wings w/3 stars, Good Conduct Medal (7th award), Republic of Vietnam Civil Action 1st Class and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He retired USMC MSgt. Buddy was never shy to spark up a friendly conversation and loved to utilize duct tape/super glue whenever possible. You could always rely on him to have a pen and note cards in his pocket. He loved to fish. He was always checking the tides making sure he didn’t miss the “good bite”. He was an extraordinary Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He was adored by friends and colleagues. He never saw a bad western movie and he loved good country music. Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home in the Stateroom on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be held this Saturday May 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Memory Gardens Cemetery where he will be interred in a family plot. He will have Full Military Honors.
