Charles "Charlie" W. Owen

Charles “Charlie” W. Owen, a longtime business man in Corpus Christi passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 12:40 p.m. at Trinity Towers. He worked at Coastal Refinery before starting his own business. He started Owen Sheet Metal Company in 1970 right after hurricane “Celia”.

Charles was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 15, 1935. Charles loved life! He worked hard and played hard until his last days when his health started to fail. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charles has gone on to meet his father James N. Owen, and his mother Mary Meek Owen and Fannie Estelle Owen, and his brothers and sisters: James Owen, Janice Owen, Tommy Owen, Robert Owen and Michael Owen.

Charles is survived by four children, Terry Owen (Joan) of George West, Tx., Gary Kevin Owen of Corpus Christi, TX, Steven Gregory Owen (Julie) of Corpus Christi, Tx., Kimberly Owen Hanks of Gueydan, La. Charles leaves behind his beautiful grandchildren Heather Randolph, Jamie Daniel, Hailey Tevis Owen, Kaitlin Christine Owen, Kelsey Leann Owen, Justin Shook, Keigan Hanks, Allyssa Hanks, and Trip Hanks, III. Charles also leaves behind to cherish his memories his sister, Linda Owen, Larry Owen, Dorothy Owen, and Norma Newberry.

The family will begin to receive friends at 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2010 at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St., with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. the same day.
