Christopher Hector Garcia, lovely known as Chris, entered into the loving arms of Our Lord on May 15, 2026 at the tender age of 56. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 2, 1969 to parents, Guadalupe Bochas and Hector Luis Garcia, he was the oldest of four children. Chris was a passionate musician, a free spirit, and someone who lived life with heart, energy, and love for the people around him.
Music was woven into Chris’s life from an early age. His journey began in middle school when he joined the school band and started playing percussion. What began as a simple interest quickly became a lifelong passion, eventually leading him to play drums and bass alongside his father in local bands. Through music, Chris found not only creativity and expression, but also connection and purpose. He first immersed himself in Conjunto and Tejano music, embracing the sounds and culture that surrounded him growing up. As his musical tastes expanded, so did his talent, eventually moving into rock bands and exploring new styles and experiences. By high school, Chris had begun performing more professionally, and one of the bands he played with even flew him to Dallas, giving him the opportunity to experience a larger music scene and deepen his love for performing.
Chris graduated from Miller High School in 1989. He carried a rebellious streak and lived life in his own way, but beneath that independent spirit was someone who loved deeply and cared fiercely for the people closest to him. He believed in enjoying life, making memories, and appreciating the small moments that often meant the most.
Chris will be reunited in heaven with his son, Josh Garcia; grandparents, Angelita Garza and Juanta and Domingo Garcia; and cousin, Nick Morales.
He’s his talent, his vibrant spirit, and the passion he carried for music and life itself will forever live in his children, Christopher Garcia, Sydney Garcia, and Jacob Garcia; parents, Lupe and Hector Garcia; sisters, Catherine Garcia, Nancy Henderson (Harold), and Stephanie James (Josh); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends. The memories he created and the music he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
