Born on October 13, 1981 Christopher was a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi and attended the Flour Bluff School District.
Christopher will be remembered for his gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and the deep love he had for his family. To those who knew him best, he was much more than a son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he was someone whose quiet presence brought comfort and whose love for his family never wavered. His beautiful laugh was genuine, contagious, and could brighten any room. Christopher's passion for music and the freehand drawings he loved so much; he created several art pieces that we still cherish today. His slightly crooked smile was unmistakably attractive, reflecting the warmth and kindness within him. He also had a playful sense of humor, famously calling his twin nieces "The Cuatas." This nickname still brings smiles to their faces and will forever be treasured by our family. It is these heartfelt memories—his laugh, his smile, his gentle nature, and the love he shared so freely—that will remain in our hearts forever.
Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Patricia Cano and Crecensio Velasquez.
He is survived by his children, Arianna Patricia Velasquez, Emily Marie Velasquez, and Christopher Velasquez, Jr.; his grandchildren, Isaiah Ramirez, Adrian Ramirez, Mateo Garza, Ezekiel Garza, Arabella Velasquez, and Ariel Velasquez; and his siblings, Michelle Velasquez Sanchez (Gilbert), Tricia Ramos Molina (Adan), Priscilla Rose Cano (Albert Puente), and Lorenzo Cano (Kesha Poncik). Nieces, Gabriella Fernandez, Cassandra Fernandez, Camilla Cano, Mariah C Lopez, Nephews Xavier Curiel, Adonis Puente and Ruben Balderas.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities for the compassionate care, support, and guidance they provided to Christopher and his loved ones. We extend our deepest appreciation to Mr. Brett Keller, Rebecca Garrett, MSP, and Claudia Layton, LPC, PsyD, whose kindness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to mental health made a meaningful difference in Christopher's life. Their dedication brought comfort, hope, and understanding during difficult times, and the family will always be grateful for the care and compassion they shared.
A Memorial Service will be held on June 30, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be held on June 30, 2026, beginning at 7:00 pm.
