Clara A. Matta, age 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away October 13, 2021. She was born in Woodsboro, Texas on November 14, 1937. Clara graduated from Roy Miller High School and was a proud member of the Battling Buc Drumline. She went on to have a career in banking for Navy Army Federal Credit Union where she later retired.
Clara was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She was known for her passion of sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She was an extraordinary seamstress who made many costumes, prom dresses, and even wedding dresses for her children, grandchildren, and loved ones.
Clara is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel R. Quintero and Agnes G. Quintero. She leaves her loving memories to her children, Priscilla (Lary) Wolf, Jacquelyn (Danny) Gonzales, and Kelly (Joe) McQuary; her grandchildren, Amanda Wolf (Cody Bauman), Tera Elwell (Laura Suarez), Dillon McQuary, Meghan McQuary, Danny R. Gonzales (Riz Espiritu), and Dorine (Adrian) Trevino; her great-grandchildren, Bryson and Maleia Bauman and Emma Trevino; her brother, Daniel (Sylvia) Quintero Jr.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home and are as follows: Public Visitation at 1:00 pm; Holy Rosary at 1:30 pm; Funeral Service at 2:00 pm; and Entombment at 3:00 pm at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
