Concha Covarrubias graduated from Martin High school and attended Laredo Business College. She was married to Javier Covarrubias her beloved husband and completed 55 years of marriage on December 2018.
Concha Covarrubias had a career in business and was incorporated in a family own business Gutierrez Bros. Inc. which catered the Laredo population with grocery stores generating business in different geographical areas of Laredo Texas. This family owned business which was created an Empire by her Father Jose Gutierrez along with her brothers and sisters, lasting more than a Century in Laredo Texas.
Concha Covarrubias business woman and mother, also held a career and a position in the Laredo Air Force Base.
Concha Covarrubias a devoted Christian and Catholic was a member of The Blessed Sacrament of Laredo Texas and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Corpus Christi Texas. She had a passion for music and also studied Concert Piano. She loved to entertain her family and friends with her beautiful music.
She is preceded in death by her Parents Jose Gutierrez & Librada Gutierrez, siblings: Elisa Gutierrez, Hilda Gutierrez, Eduardo Gutierrez, Dario Gutierrez, Fidel Gutierrez, Jose Gutierrez and Arturo Gutierrez.
Concha Covarrubias was survived by her Husband Javier Covarrubias and her loving Daughters Yvonne Covarrubias & Patricia Covarrubias (Jean Pierre Covarrubias) and sister Eva Rodriguez along with many loving nieces and nephews that she adored.
Concha Covarrubias later resided in Corpus Christi for four decades and became a housewife and stay home mother for her loving daughters Yvonne Covarrubias & Patricia Covarrubias.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Cage Mills Funeral Directors 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 with visitation to begin at 5:30 p.m. and a Holy Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. Funeral on Thursday, January 17, 2019, celebrating with a mass at Our lady of Perpetual Help 5830 Williams Drive, Corpus Christi, TX at 11:00 a.m. Followed by Burial at 1:00 p.m. Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH37 Access Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78410.
