

Connie Jo Garbe, aged 83, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024. Born in Laredo, Texas in 1941, Connie spent the majority of her life in the Corpus Christi area, where she created countless cherished memories with her family and friends. For the past seven years, she lived in Temple, Texas.
After graduating from high school, Connie married Albert Earl Garbe. Shortly after their marriage, the couple was stationed in Germany, where they began their family, eventually welcoming four children.
Connie's passion for creativity led her to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
Connie was fiercely independent and remarkably resourceful, traits that were evident in all aspects of her life. She was an avid gardener who took great pride in cultivating beauty from the earth, and a passionate quilter, creating works of art that will be cherished by her family for generations. Connie also loved the outdoors, enjoying family camping trips and traveling, and she was known for hosting large family celebratory dinners.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Albert Earl Garbe, two daughters; Machael Dawn Beckwith (Jerry) and Melysa Anne Vestal (Joey), eight grandchildren; Cassandra (Steven), Sierra (JP), Kidron (Joshua), Sunny (Brent), Stetson (Kimberly) , Kylee (Stephen), and Jared and nine great-grandchildren; Maxwell, Memphis, Elise, Jude, Harper, Barrett, Callum, Bennett and Sonny. She also has three surviving sibilings; Winifred Ann Rabb, Michael Walter Stanfield, and Ted Ike Stanfield.
A funeral service to honor Connie's life will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Corpus Christi, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., the service at 10:00 a.m. and graveside burial to follow. Services will be led by Brother Robby Gwynn.
Pallbearers will be Nolan Culp Jr., Greg Garbe, Guy Garbe, Brent Hays, Stephen Silva and Stetson Vestal.
Connie's legacy of dedication, creativity, and resilience will forever be remembered by her family and friends.
