Consuelo G Gutierrez

Our beloved mother, grandmother, Consuelo G. Gutierrez, age 92 went to be with her Lord on July 4, 2012. She was born in Armstrong, Texas on September 30, 1919 to Manuel and Maria Espinoza Gomez of Kingsville, Texas.

She loved being with her children, grandchildren; enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and gambling in Louisiana; watching wrestling with her son Lonnie and most of all she loved to dance. Consuelo had a sense of humor and enjoyed spending time sitting on her front porch with family and others.

She worked at Levines’in the early 60’s to the 70’s and the State School for 10 years. After retiring, she enjoyed babysitting.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Alfredo C. Gutierrez, Sr.; son, Jose Antonio Gutierrez and his wife Mona P. Gutierrez.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Alfred Gutierrez, Jr., of San Antonio, Texas, Dora (Johnny) Maldonado, Alonzo Gutierrez, Nora Gutierrez all of Corpus Christi and Edna (Stanley L. Jr.) Bubela of Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Herlinda Gutierrez, Joe Alfred Gutierrez, Jonathan Gutierrez, Alfred Gutierrez, III, Ilene Gutierrez, Arlene Gutierrez, Regina Denise Gutierrez, John J. Maldonado, III, Annette Maldonado, Alonzo Hinojosa, Lora Garcia, Rhonda Garcia, Melissa Bubela Loveless and Melinda Bubela. Her survivors include 20 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Emily Lopez for the care and love shown to our mom and to Angel Bright Hospice for their care.

The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
