Damian Rene Benavidez

He was born on May 21, 1979 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Gilbert G. and Beatrice Benavidez.

Damian graduated from Moody High School in 1979, went on to college to get a degree on medical transcriptionist. He wanted a second career went to work on the oil business and later went back to finish school as a dental hygienist.

Damian is preceded in death by his father, Gilbert G. Benavidez; brother, Robert Benavidez; grandparents, Eusebio and Beatrice Avalos.

He leaves behind his family to cherish his memories, his loving mother, Beatrice (Jesse Jr.) Salinas; ex-wife, Jennifer Casas Benavidez; daughter, Victoria Benavidez; son, Damian Benavidez, Jr.; two sisters, Mary Ellen (Robert Nicolas) Martinez and Nancy (Mike) Marines; one brother, Gilbert Jr. (Melinda) Benavidez; numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
