David Guadalupe Budd, 67, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on October 12, 2026. Born on December 12, 1958, in Corpus Christi, David was the beloved son of Raul and Carmen Budd. His life was one filled with love, kindness, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others.
David graduated from Foy H. Moody High School in 1977 and continued his education at Texas Lutheran University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1981. He married the love of his life, Griselda Budd, on August 11, 1984, beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned 42 years and was filled with love, family, and countless cherished memories.
Throughout his career with Child Protective Services, David dedicated himself to helping others and making a difference in the lives of those who needed it most. His compassionate heart, patience, and willingness to lend a helping hand were qualities that defined him and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Outside of work, David found joy in the simple things that made life special. He loved saltwater fishing, football, baseball, and, of course, firing up the BBQ to gather with family. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan, and some of his fondest memories were made cheering on his favorite teams. Football and baseball seasons brought excitement and togetherness, especially when the Little League World Series was on. Whether watching a game, sharing stories, or enjoying a backyard BBQ, David treasured the time spent surrounded by the people he loved most. These moments, filled with laughter, good food, and family, are memories that will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who shared them with him.
David will be remembered most for his kind spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering patience. He had a special way of making others feel cared for and valued, always willing to offer his help, his time, or a listening ear. His love for his family and his generosity toward others were among his greatest gifts. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the love he gave, the lessons he shared, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years, Griselda Budd; his parents, Raul and Carmen Budd; his son, Matthew Budd (Elyssa Budd); his daughter, Amy Patino (Felix Patino); his beloved grandchildren, Emma and Miles Patino, and Sebastian and Mateo Budd, who brought so much joy to his life; his brother, Raul Budd, Jr.; his sister, Elizabeth Budd (Frank Trevino); and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
The family extends their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to NP, Vilma Paris, Dr. Gregory Trolley, the nurses and staff of Choice Hospice, the Budd family, the Gomez family, and their dear family friends for the compassion, kindness, and support shown to David and his loved ones during this difficult time. Your care and presence will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Corpus Christi Food Bank, an organization that held a special place in David’s heart. A gift in his memory is a beautiful way to honor his generous spirit and continue the kindness he so freely shared with others.
David’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love a gift that will remain with his family and friends forever. Though he may no longer be by their side, he will live on in every family gathering, every shared meal, every exciting game, and every moment when the kindness he showed others is passed along. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with the Holy Rosary and Funeral Services to begin at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
