With hearts full of love and sadness, we say goodbye to David Gerardo Hanysz — a beloved father, brother, son, twin, and U.S. Army veteran.
David was born on October 21, 1969, in Chicago, Illinois, to Rosario and Waldemar Hanysz. Born a twin, David grew up surrounded by family and shared a special bond with his siblings (John Arthur, Sagrario, Waldemar Jr., Dalila, and Reynaldo) throughout his life.
As a young man, David proudly served in the United States Army, which brought him to Germany. There, he met the woman who would become his wife. They shared twenty years of marriage and welcomed three daughters together. David was also blessed with two daughters from an earlier chapter of his life, giving him the five girls (Erica, Adriana, Jessica, Tiffany, and Dana) he loved dearly.
His daughters were a piece of his heart. He wanted them to believe in themselves, follow their dreams, and know that they were capable of becoming anything they wanted to be.
David worked as an industrial machinery mechatronics technician, but he was much more than his career. He was a sensitive and thoughtful man who reflected deeply on life, family, and the challenges we face. One of the greatest lessons he leaves behind is simple:
When life puts stones in your path, keep going. Believe in yourself, never give up on your dreams, and always hold your family close.
David’s journey took him from Chicago to the U.S. Army, to Germany, through love and fatherhood, and eventually back to the United States. His journey was not always easy, but it was uniquely his.
On August 27, 2026, we had to say goodbye much sooner than we ever wanted. He leaves behind his five beloved daughters, his twin, his siblings, and a family who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
There will always be words left unsaid and moments we wish we could have shared. But love does not end with goodbye. It lives on in our memories, in the stories we tell, and in the people who carry a part of him within them.
Dad, we hope you knew how deeply you were loved. We will carry your lessons with us, keep going when life gets hard, follow our dreams, and hold our family close.
You will always be our Dad.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever a part of us.
