David "Dave" Layne Hix

David Layne “Dave” Hix passed away on August 6, 2018 at the age of 67. Dave was born in Corpus Christi on September 21, 1950 to the late David John and Imogene Hix. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Dave was a chef and restaurant manager in Port Aransas for many years. He had a passion for his work and enjoyed cooking in Corpus Christi, Austin, San Antonio and even Monterrey, Mexico. He was an avid sports fan especially for UT football.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rhonda Hix, Denise McDonald; and nephew, Shawn Nee.

Dave leaves his loving memories to his siblings, Gennene Hix, Terrie Ann Nee; niece, Colleen Heinsohn and her husband, Nathan; nephew, Michael David McDonald; niece, Rachel McDonald; great nieces, Sarah and Emma Heinsohn; cousins, Donna Schultz, June McLemore. He also leaves a host of dear friends of 40 years from Austin and Port Aransas.

Family and friends will Celebrate the Life of David at Kody's Restaurant, 2034 State Highway 361, Port Aransas, Texas, on Sunday, September 9, 2018 following the Graveside Service at Royal Palm Cemetery at 5:00 p.m.
