Dempsey Delaney Blackstock passed away on May 5, 2018 at the age of 88. He was born on October 15, 1929 in Lamesa, TX.

He served our country in the U.S. Navy and fought during WWII.

Dempsey is preceded in death by his parents, Louie Delaney Blackstock and Edith Ann Provence; wife, Lucia Blackstock and daughter, Dorothy Kirsch Baker.

He leaves behind his daughter, Jennifer (Richard) Dixon; grandchildren, Mellaney and Diomond and Quincy Baker; two great-grandsons and 1 great-great granddaughter. He is also survived by step-daughter, Connie Garcia and her son, Markie Garcia; step-daughter, Laura (Tim) Urias and their children, Annie, Alyssa and Aaron Urias; sister, Marie Files; brother, Rex Blackstock; close friend and caregiver, Blanca (Robert W. Gamez) S. Rios among numerous other caregivers, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 pm that same evening. Chapel services will be held at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 12:30 pm with interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
