Dee Haven joined our Lord and Savior on September 15, 2023. He was born on March 8, 1934, in Dallas, Texas, to Waldo Harry Haven and Maurine Haley Haven. If you recognize Dee’s name, it is probably because Dee was a leader in the community and in the restaurant/hospitality industry for over 60 years.
To list all that he was involved in would take pages and pages, but if you knew him, you knew his dedication, hard work and deep passion for the community and its businesses. From teaching new restaurateurs, leading associations, and consulting with entrepreneurs, he shared his passion while helping to establish the roots we find in Corpus Christi restaurants today.
He was a devoted member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church for 52 years. He loved Christ and was a great teacher and leader in the church. He never hesitated to give his time and touched so many lives. On this day the rain came followed by thunder as the gates of Heaven opened for a great man.
Our hearts are broken for the loss of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed by many, especially his wife, Judy Haven, his children, Mark Haven and wife, Susan, Matt Haven and wife, Angie, Mike Haven and wife, Debbie, Mary Haven Chandler and husband, Mitch, and Marla Haven Long, and 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
