

Born on August 27, 1952, in Kingsville, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Idolina and Jesus M. Cano. Upon graduating from Corpus Christi State University with a degree in Education, Diana followed her true calling when she began her teaching career. Over the next 32 years, she found immense joy in teaching kindergarten, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of her students with her calm guidance and loving nature. Diana's warm spirit and nurturing soul will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her unwavering dedication to her family leaves behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Ernesto Hinojosa Jr.; her three sons, Ernesto Hinojosa III, Alberto M. (Christine) Hinojosa, and Jesus N. (Rheanna) Hinojosa; her cherished grandchildren, Aiden and Alyssa Hinojosa; and her great-grandson, Noah Hinojosa. She also leaves behind her siblings, Juan A. (Belinda) Cano and Maria H. Rodriguez along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. Diana was preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Idolina Cano as well as her siblings, Ida G. Cano and Jose C. Cano.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cyril Catholic Church. Rites of Christian Burial will follow immediately at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family is immensely thankful for the compassion and care provided by the ICU teams at both Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-South and Houston Methodist Hospital.
