Diana F. Vargas

After a strong and courageous battle with cancer Diana was called by the Lord on January 29th, 2014. She graduated from West Oso High School in 1969. She was a longtime Corpus Christi resident after living abroad. She was a loving mother who will be dearly missed. Diana enjoyed gardening, gambling, and treasured spending time with her children, grandchild, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.

She is survived by her Children: Priscilla Vargas, Jonathan M. Vargas, Irene Fay (Roger), grandchild: Ashley N. Vargas, Siblings: Nelda F. Figueroa, Rosa Hernandez (Amador), Roel Figueroa (Rosie), Armando Figueroa (Brenda), Aunt: Louisa Bosman, Nephews/Nieces: Lilly Barnhart (Wayne), Joe Hernandez (Lisa), Vicki Herrmann (Jerry), Angel De Los Santos (Gabriel), Randi Jennings (Brad), Michael Figueroa (Stephanie), Amy Figueroa, Antonio Fay, Pets: Daisy Mae and Brownie.

Diana retired from the Corpus Christi State School where she strived to make a difference in the lives of others. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends but, remains in their hearts.

Family will be receiving friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens.
