Dila Garcia was born on December 28, 1930 and passed away on August 21, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Maria and Manuela Pena, her husband, Gilberto Garcia, her infant daughter, Manuelita Garcia, her brothers, Antonio Pena and Siviades Pena and her sister, Anaminta Hancock. She was a long time member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, where she and her late husband were active church members and instrumental in helping raise funds for the present church. Dila attended daily Masses, prayed the rosary daily and had a heart-felt devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. She was active in church ministries and was a 1982 charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court #2380. She was a devoted mother and wife. She was reliable as a parent, relative and friend.
She is survived by her daughters, Grace (Fred) Barrientos and Lisa (Esequiel) Ramos; son, Gilbert Garcia; grandchildren, Brian (Sue) Barrientos, Derek Barrientos, Celine Ramos, Zoe Ramos and Alexa Ramos; her great granddaughter, Emma Barrientos, sisters, Elva Villarreal and Hilda Sendejo; sister-in-law, Dolores Pena; brother, Nelson (Elva) Pena and numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Tia Dila very much.
Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Monday, August 26, 2019 in the St. Jude Chapel at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made for Masses at the Church.
