Don Ray Foley

Don was born on October 25, 1938, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School. Although he didn't receive a traditional college degree, he often said his greatest education came through his years of service in the United States Air Force.

On August 5, 1960, Don married the love of his life, Nancy Lou Fraizer Foley, at Chanute Air Force Base. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and countless cherished memories.

Don served as an Electronic Technician in the United States Air Force for eight years. During his military service, he worked on the Hound Dog missile program, the nation's first air-launched nuclear cruise missile, and often shared stories about the missiles being carried aboard B-52 bombers during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was proud of his service and loved reminiscing about his years in the Air Force.

After leaving the military, Don continued his career in electronics, working for Honeywell, Texas Instruments, H & H in Corpus Christi, and the San Patricio Water District. He was known for his technical skills, curiosity, and ability to build or fix just about anything.

Don had many hobbies and passions. He loved music, woodworking, electronics, computers, and traveling. One of his favorite traditions was making trips to Rollag, Minnesota, to visit his daughter and her family and attend the Western Steam Thresher Reunion every Labor Day. He also treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren in Dallas.

Don was happiest spending time with family and friends. He was well known for meeting friends for lunch at local restaurants, where good food was always accompanied by good conversation. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved telling jokes, and was the kind of person who would quietly listen when someone was struggling and offer encouragement without judgment.

Some of the family's favorite memories are the simple moments spent together. Don and his loved ones enjoyed meeting for tea at Denny's, where they would sit and talk about their day. One especially cherished tradition was going to Denny's at midnight to share laughs and watch the late-night crowd wander in for coffee.

A diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, Don looked forward to football season every year. Every Sunday, the family gathered with plenty of snacks while the kids spread blankets across the living room floor to watch the game together. Those afternoons became treasured family traditions that will never be forgotten.

Don will be remembered for his love of family, his quick wit, his generous heart, and his willingness to help others. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, hard work, and treasured memories that will live on in everyone who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Lou Fraizer Foley; his parents, Alice Elizabeth and Jack Daglen Foley; and his brothers, Fred Foley and Tommy Foley.

He is survived by his children, Ray (Wendy) Marwith Foley, Deborah (Charles) Grose, and Frank (Amy) Mitchell Foley; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his memory forward with love.

Your compassion, support, and exceptional care meant more than words can express during this difficult time. We also extend our sincere thanks to the many friends who called to check in, stopped by to lend a hand, or helped haul countless truckloads to the landfill. Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411, US, on July 12, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and again on July 13, 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.

A Religious Ceremony will take place at Funeraria Del Angel, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411, US, on July 13, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.

A Committal Service will be held at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 I-37, Corpus Christi, TX 78410, US, on July 13, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
