With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Dora Contreras, who left this world peacefully on November 13, 2025, her 90th birthday, in her cherished hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on November 13, 1935, Dora embodied love and warmth, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Dora married her husband, Theodoro Contreras, on June 27, 1954, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and hard work. As a dedicated co-owner of Theo’s Refrigeration, Dora not only supported Theodoro in their business ventures but also played an integral role in creating a welcoming environment for their family.
Her greatest passion was her family. Dora was the heart of our home, a nurturing spirit who brought everyone together for weekly dinners and holiday celebrations that filled the air with love and joy. Sunday barbecues and Thursday family dinners became cherished traditions, where stories were shared, laughter echoed, and bonds were strengthened. Thanksgiving and Christmas were particularly special, as her home was always open.
Dora found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often spending her evenings watching her favorite old sitcoms and indulging in her beloved novellas. But it was her unwavering strength and commitment to family that truly defined her legacy. She was the glue that held our family together, always ready to give you an honest opinion, a listening ear, or a loving embrace.
Dora is preceded in death by her husband, Theodoro, and her children, Victor and Rosalinda. She leaves behind a loving family that includes her sons, Theodoro Jr., Oscar and Eddie Contreras, along with a host of grandchildren: Annie, Michael, Sandy, TC, Heather, Arthur, Jennifer, Eddie Jr, John, Joseph, Isaac, Casey and Emily, as well as numerous cherished great-grandchildren.
As we say goodbye to Dora, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, resilience, and family. Her spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us as we continue to honor her memory through our own acts of love and kindness. Dora Contreras was not just our grandmother; she was our heart, and her legacy will live on in each of us.
