Dora Jean Gomez entered into the loving arms of Our Lord on April 8, 2026 at the tender age of 59. She was born in Victoria, Texas on May 7, 1966 to parents, Aurora Salinas and John Gomez. Dora was a woman full of life, laughter, and love, whose presence brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew her.
She had a deep appreciation for beauty, especially when it came to flowers, with roses holding a special place in her heart. Dora also had a passion for music and enjoyed all kinds, often attending concerts whenever she had the chance. She loved staying connected to the world of entertainment, keeping up with the latest news and spending time watching her favorite shows, including Saturday Night Live, which never failed to make her laugh. Dora was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan who loved cheering on her team every chance she got. Game days were another way for her to gather with loved ones.
Dora’s laughter was one of her most memorable traits—full of joy and truly contagious. When she laughed, it radiated from her, lighting up the room and lifting the spirits of those around her.
Dora found lasting love with her devoted partner of over 30 years, Damian Villalobos Jr. The two first met at a Halloween party in 1991, where her warm and radiant smile immediately caught Damian’s attention. What began as a simple introduction quickly grew into a meaningful friendship, and from there, a lifelong partnership. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another—a bond that stood the test of time and became a beautiful part of Dora’s story. A devoted mother to her sons, Dora had the patience of a saint. She was their mediator during disagreements, their helping hand when they needed guidance, and their biggest cheerleader through every stage of life. Her love and dedication extended even further in her role as a grandmother, where she truly shined. She was an amazing grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family.
In the kitchen, Dora’s love was expressed through her cooking. Her enchiladas were unmatched, a favorite among family and friends. She also enjoyed baking and was always eager to try new recipes or learn how dishes were made, embracing every opportunity to grow her skills.
Holidays were especially meaningful to Dora, as she loved bringing everyone together. She found great joy in hosting her family, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and the comforting smell of a home-cooked meal.
Dora will be reunited in heaven with her mother and step-father, Aurora and Ruben Gomez; and father, John Gomez.
Dora will be remembered for her radiant joy, her nurturing spirit, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her memory will forever live in her husband, Damian Villalobos; sons, Randall, Damian, David (Lindsay), and Anthony; grandchildren, Jordan, Aubrey, Alijah, Houston, Urijah, Kahlani, and Aliyah; and her best friend Liz Moreno. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the traditions she built, and the family she cherished above all else such as her nieces, nephews, and numerous extended family members.
