Doris Louise Evans

Doris Louise Evans, entered into eternal rest and the gates of heaven on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. She was born in West Virginia on August 9, 1933. Her family moved to Texas when she was only 3. Everyone who knew Doris loved her…she spoke her mind and you knew what she was thinking. She would do anything for those she loved. She believed in Jesus Christ, Family, and working hard. Most of her Adult life she worked for Carr’s Laundry and Cleaners (Oriental laundry). She was very compassionate about animals. Her Love for dogs but most especially cats was evident. At last count she had 13. She loved fishing and golfing. Doris was a fighter. She beat Cancer three times. She will be missed. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Vada Evans; her brothers, Jack Cecil Evans and Rush D. (Rusty) Evans, and her sister, Mildred Gutierrez. She is survived by one sister, Betty Jean Phillips of Corpus Christi, TX; one sister in law, Dorothy Evans of Corpus Christi; and two lifelong friends who were family, Jody Sapp and Pat Warr of San Antonio. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 11:00 am with a Chapel service to begin at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to your local animal shelter is what Doris wanted.
