Dorothy Mikeal

Dorothy Jean Byas Mikeal, 76, passed away at her home on Monday, March 21, 2011 after a short illness. She was born in Edinburg, Texas on November 12, 1934 to Albert Lester and Georgie Mae (Carter) Byas. Gardening and canning were among some of Dorothy’s favorite things to do but more importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy didn’t have much, but what she did have she was willing to share with those around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Dee Mikeal; brother, Bobby George Byas, and a sister, Margie Mae Lemon.

Survivors include her son, Jerrold Mikeal and his wife, Linda of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Jean Mikeal of Tallulah, Louisiana, Georgie and her husband Scot Bickham of Corpus Christi, Texas; stepson, James Dee Beal-Mikeal; three grandsons, Heath Gomes, Josh Bickham, and Jonathan Mikeal; three granddaughters, Heather Gomes, Kim Bickham, Jamie Mikeal; great grandchildren, James and Noah Bickham, Logan Mikeal, Kaylynn, Coleman, and Cassie Gomes; nephew, Frank Lemon along with many other family and friends.

Dorothy requested that no funeral services be held. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Mark’s Episcopal Outreach Ministry or The American Heart Association.
