Dorothy Ann Klepac Tischler

July 29, 1932August 6, 2019

Dorothy Ann Klepac Tischler passed away and into the arms of her Heavenly Father on August 6, 2019. Dorothy was born on July 29, 1932 in Corpus Christi, Texas to William Rudolph Klepac and Mary Netek Klepac. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Fred O. Tischler; her son, Douglas Wayne Tischler; and infant grandson, Michael Tischler, Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Ann Whidden; son, Michael Dennis Tischler and daughter-in-law, Becky LeeAnn Tischler; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; her sister, Edna (Michael) Devaney; brother, Benjamin (Mary Jane) Klepac; brother William (Joyce) Klepac; brother, Jerome Klepac and various nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy graduated as the Salutatorian of the West Oso High School graduating class of 1948. On January 29, 1951, she married Fred O. Tischler and began her life as a homemaker and devoted and loving wife and mother. After Fred and Dorothy’s children began their own lives, Dorothy began a new chapter in her life of caring and service for others working in Pastoral Care at Spohn Shoreline hospital for many years. She enjoyed her Spohn family, her colleagues, the clergy and the Sister of Charity as they all worked together to insure the comfort and wellbeing of the Spohn patients and their families. After Dorothy retired from Pastoral Care, she became active in volunteerism at the area hospitals for several years. She worked diligently with the auxiliary at Northwest Regional Hospital to establish a chapel in the facility that included a stained glass mural which she designed. Dorothy also served 2 terms as auxiliary president. Over the years, volunteerism was a big part of her life as she also served at Spohn South and Spohn Shoreline in many capacities that included serving as a Eucharist Minister. Dorothy was very proud of her Czech heritage and was a member of the KJZT for 77 years. Her connection to church and the choir were a significant part of her life. She enjoyed fun times growing up with family and cousins and talked of many good times at Grandpa Leo Netek’s homestead. She enjoyed cooking and baking and sharing her delicious foods with others. Music and the hall dances were favorites as well. Dorothy enjoyed good times with husband Fred and his musical talents and entertainment, traveling and getting together for any occasion with family and good friends. We honor and love a hardworking, loving wife, mother and grandmother who now rests in peace. We will carry that Love with us always. Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
