Earl “Doug” Douglas Brittain Jr., age 73, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025. Doug was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on September 19, 1951, to parents Earl Douglas Brittain and Ruthie Faye Miller.
Childhood brought Doug to his favorite place of residence, China Spring, Texas. Though Doug graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1969, he was faithful to his China Spring High School, home of the Cougars! He was a star athlete who played football, softball, and baseball. Even after graduating, Doug still returned to China Spring to watch football games. His family will fondly reminisce on his love for his school, the sports he played, and him lovingly chanting the Cougars fight song, even in the middle of the night!
Along with his love of sports, Doug was a heartfelt animal lover. He had many furry friends throughout his life and always held a special place in his heart for his animals, especially his beloved dogs.
Doug is reunited with his wife, Beverly J. Brittain; mother, Ruth Hill; father, Earl Brittain; stepfather, Dan Hill; sister, Glenda Brittain; nephew, Dustin Babin; and fur babies, Dolly, Cocoa, Bama, and Buffy.
Doug leaves his cherished memories to his children, Christopher Brittain and Casey Brittain; step-mother, Carolyn Brittain; siblings, Donna Babin, Brady and Amanda Brittain, Brian and Laura Brittain, and Terry Roberts; furry companions, Oreo, Tucker, Cooper, and Daisy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
