

Edith Hodges, 104, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012. God wrapped his loving arms around her and carried her home. Edith was born June 19, 1908 in Pflugerville, Texas, born to Albert P. Pfluger and Sophia Sackewitz.
Edith was a retired school teacher and dedicated 33 years of her life teaching children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a devoted member of St. Marks Lutheran Church for many years. She loved going to church and being with her church family. She especially loved going out to lunch every Sunday with her family. Edith was a resident of the Garden Estates and enjoyed spending time with her friends there. Edith was blessed with a long and full life. She was truly amazing and up until several weeks ago, she was still playing bingo every afternoon and cards in the evening. Edith was one of the most kind, gentle, loving, giving, selfless, and humble person you would ever meet.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Earl Hodges, a daughter Linda Kay, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
She is survived by her brother, Willard Pfluger ( Camille) of Pflugerville, Texas, her sister, Mildred Parker (Ned) of Austin, Texas, and her loving and devoted son Don Hodges (Teri) of Corpus Christi, Texas, four grandchildren, Scott, Traci, Catherine, and Candice, and four great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors 4901 Everhart Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas. Funeral services will be at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church 4620 S. Alameda, Corpus Christi, Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
