Elena Martinez Coronado

Elena Martinez Coronado, passed away on April 19, 2017, at the age of 84 with family by her side. She was born in Brownsville, TX. on November 24, 1932 to Manuel and Consuelo Martinez. Elena, a longtime resident of Corpus Christi, Tx. was called home to join her Savior Jesus Christ, her parents, her husband Mike Coronado, her son Alberto Jose “Lalo” Coronado, her grandson Alberto E. Lopez, her sisters Mercedes Martinez, Lupita Tillman, Consuelo Torres, and her brother Antonio Martinez.

Elena was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Some may call her a Homemaker but she was much more to all of us. She was a loving wife, an awesome gardener, our nurse, our security, our counselor, a mentor and a friend. Elena constantly put her family’s needs in front of hers until she could no more. She enjoyed the camaraderie of playing Bunco with friends and riding her bike anywhere she needed to go. She also cared for and helped raise her Grandchildren and took joy in knowing we were safe and on the right path.

Elena leaves her everlasting love and cherished memories to her 27 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, and her children, Veronica Moreno (Eddie), Miguel Coronado (Eileen), Maria E. Coronado, Marcos Coronado (Deborah), Rita C. Baerwald (Whitey), Lisa C. Maclin (Jeff), Manuel J. Coronado (Gracie), and Mercedes C. Perez (Richard).

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 2:00pm Friday May 19 at Memory Gardens Chapel 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. with Interment to follow. In accordance with her wishes her ashes will be placed with our Dad and beside our brother.
