Elida P. Guzman

She was born on March 21, 1918 in Camargo, Mexico to Blas and Gregoria Perez, where immediately after her birth she was brought to Kingsville, Texas. She was raised in Kingsville and Hebbronville, Texas and later resided in Corpus Christi, Texas. Elida was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a talented seamstress and a wonderful cook. She had a tremendous love for fishing, loved going to casinos and garage sales.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ellis F. Crittenden, Sr. and Romulo O. Guzman and an infant sister.

Elida is survived by her 99 year old brother, Samuel Perez, Sr. (Emila), her four children, Ellis F. Crittenden, Jr. (Nina); Linda L. Crittenden Bazan (Arturo); Ynocencia P. Guzman; Elida P. Guzman Vela (Roy Sr.) all of Corpus Christi, Texas, eleven grandchildren, Fred Crittenden; David Crittenden (Kayla) of Louisiana; Crystal Vela of Corpus Christi, Texas; Latalie Schooley (Billy) of Orange Grove, Texas; April Contreras (Benito); Ashley Bazan of Corpus Christi, Texas; Stacey Alvarado of Dallas, Texas; Dorothy Guzman of Corpus Christi, Texas; Yentle Chee (Keoki) of Hawaii; Roy Vela, Jr. and Eric Vela of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and Godchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
