Elida M. Lozano

Elida was born July 23, 1931 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a graduate of Roy Miller High School and Del Mar College. Elida was retired from Corpus Christi Independent School District .

Elida loved helping the community; she was an active member at Broadmoore and Zavala Senior Centers, where she sat on the RSVP and Side Counsel.

Elida loved her family and grandchildren. There are no words to fully describe this feisty, gracious, and generous lady, who will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Elida enjoyed being around her family, and loved her annual trips to Las Vegas, with a dear departed friend, Gloria Quintero.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her spouse R.C. Lozano; brother, Abel Martinez and granddaughter, Brandi Ann Moreno.

Elida is survived by her sister, Olga M. Ayala (Benny); brother, Robert Martinez (Mary Helen) and her three daughtes, Laura Moreno (Richard Gaytan), Rosemary Cuellar (Ruben) and Rose Catherine Lozano (Thelma); five grandchildren, Yvette Lopez (1st Sgt. Alfonso), Michelle Llamas (Carlos), Raeann Moreno, Arron Cuellar, Ryan Cuellar and four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Isabella Lopez, Kristin Ward, Maty Llamas and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Alaniz from Port Isabel, Texas.

The family would like to thank everyone who partaked in her case, especially Amelia Perez her private sitter.

Public visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2509 Nogales Street.

Services will conclude after church services.
