Elida Torres

She was born on November 27, 1926 in Ozona, Texas. She moved to Corpus Christi in the early 1940’s to raise her family but has other family in Lamesa, Big Spring, Midland, Austin, Plainview, New Braunfels, Houston, McAllen, Pflugerville, Phoenix, California and Las Vegas. Elida will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Luz Delgado; husband, Jose C. Torres, Sr.; brothers, Ramiro Delgado and Arnold Delgado; daughters, Rebecca Leos and Mary Helen Gonzalez and granddaughters, Sally Dee Torres and Jennifer Rose Osborn.

Elida is survived by her sons; Samuel (Aurora) Torres, Rudolfo (Manuela) Torres, Jose (Helen) Torres, Jr., Rolando (Zulema) Torres, Alexander (Beatrice) Torres; daughters Beatrice (Julian) Leos, Patricia (Ivone) Young, Elida (John) Mondragon and Irma (Felix) Vasquez; brothers, Jose Delgado and Robert Delgado; sister, Irma Rovello; 39 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Torres, Jr., Rolando Torres, Jr., Joel Torres, Rodolfo Torres, Jr., Alexander Torres, Jr. and Tony Mondragon; Honorary Pallbearer will be Juan B. De Leon.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel with a Holy rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. the same evening.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
