Elizabeth Ramirez Zundt was a strong and fierce momma bear who loved and cared for all the children around her, especially her own. A fearless and outspoken advocate for education, she encouraged her girls to chase their dreams and celebrate their gifts. She spent many years working in the library of Sam Houston Elementary where she not only encouraged those children to learn and grow—but their parents through English literacy classes on the weekends.
Because she believed knowledge was power, she never stopped learning. She watched the news daily and would often send out a ‘word of the day’ to those she loved.
A perfect day to Liz was hanging out with her family and friends. Her energy, spirit and jokes made it their favorite time as well. While we will miss her terribly, we take comfort in knowing she is the life of the party in heaven.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Amy Torres(Robert), and Marissa Zundt Garza (AJ); sisters, Elvia Viera (George), Linda Correa (Danny), Maria Gonzales (Tony), Toni Ramirez, Elida Marin (Bill), Rosa Canales(David), and Letty Lopez (Jesse); brothers, Rudy Ramirez (Angel), and Reynaldo Ramirez; Emilio Zundt; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isidoro and Macaria Ramirez; and brother, Isidoro Ramirez, Jr. (Alma).
