Elodia Cruz

Elodia Cruz, 80, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on August 28, 2024. Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Elodia dedicated many years of her life to working at the Corpus Christi State Living Center before retiring.

Elodia had a deep passion for cleaning and cherished working alongside her daughter, Michelle. She took immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always eager to create lasting memories with them.

Elodia was preceded in death by her mother, Carmen Valenzuela; father, Porfirio Valenzuela; daughter-in-law, Irma Cruz; and many of her siblings. She is survived by her sons, Rolando Cruz Jr. (Irma) and Israel Ortiz; daughters, Grace Cruz, Michelle (Joe Hernandez), and Cynthia (Edward Morgan); and her granddaughter/daughter, Tina Marie (Javier Reyes). Elodia also leaves behind her brother, Johnny (Terry Valenzuela); sister-in-law, Yolanda Valenzuela; and numerous other family members.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Victoria, Alejandro, Jennifer, Cassandra, Joshua, Miranda, Justin, Cody, Michael, Bella, Noah, and many great-grandchildren.

Elodia will be remembered for her loving nature, her dedication to her family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of everyone she knew. Her memory will continue to live on through the cherished moments she shared with her loved ones.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation beginning at 9:00 am on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

The Cruz family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support during this time.
