Emeterio was preceded in death by his parents, Salvador Enriquez and Maria Gonzalez Enriquez, two sisters, Eva Cuevas and Angelita Zapata and one brother, Alberto Castillo. Emeterio is survived by his wife, Esperanza and his five children, Mario, Patricia, Noe, Nelda, Homer, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a sister, Esther Gonzales. Emeterio was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX, witnessing the growth of our city from humble beginnings. Emeterio enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 18 and served as a merchant marine. After serving his country, he returned to Corpus Christi where he married Esperanza Cuevas on April 12, 1953 at the age of 28, enjoying 62 years of marriage.
Emeterio was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone for over 36 years and retired in 1988. He also served the Lord as a Baptist minister, preaching, ministering and spreading the Word of God in over 24 churches and missions in South Texas. Emeterio lived a long and blessed life serving God, his country and his family, leaving a lasting impression on those who were blessed to know him. He also worked for the City of Corpus Christi Water Department early in his life.
We will miss his great life stories and experiences he always shared.
Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday September 18, 2015 at Cage-Mills Funeral Chapel, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411 with visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held the following day.
