Emily was married to her devoted husband, John Thomas Veselka, on May 9, 1969, in Sumter, South Carolina. She graduated from Edmunds High School in Sumter as part of the Class of 1968. She went on to enjoy a fulfilling career in administration until her eventual retirement from First National Bank of Beeville in 2010. Emily was also an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beeville, Texas, where she faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Affectionately called "Punkin" by her relatives and her many nieces and nephews, Emily’s greatest joy came from her role at the heart of her family. She was proudly "Mama" to her children and adored as "Grammy" by her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph, Sr. and Marie Turner, and her sisters Alice Marie McCoy, Dorothy Jean Richburg, and Carolyn Faye Hill.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Veselka; her children, Thomas Brett (Cindy) Veselka, Kristin Arlene (Jason) Kirkland, and Travis Benjamin (Jason) Veselka; her grandchildren, Caroline, Autumn, William, and Thomas; and her siblings, Catherine Mae (Norman) Olsen and Ralph (Mary) Turner, Jr.
