

Erminia (Minnie) P. Lopez peacefully went home to the Lord while surrounded by her loving husband and daughters. Born April 25, 1927 in Pettus, Texas to the late Doniciano and Benita Peña, she was one of six children. She was the beloved wife, best friend and soul mate of Eliseo J. Lopez for 58 years.
Minnie will forever be remembered by her devoted daughters Irma (Edward) Tober, Norma (Fernando) Toscano, Terri (Steve) Buchanan, and Edward Guartuche, whom she loved as a son. She leaves 6 treasured grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.
Minnie loved playing the guitar, singing with the church cursillo, and enjoyed weekend trips to the country with her husband. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents Doniciano and Benita Peña and one grandchild, Margarita Tober. A retiree of the Nueces County Health Department, Minnie touched the lives of many people with her smile and will forever be missed.
Her family will be receiving friends from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be Eloy Tober, David Tober, Ruben Toscano, Patrick Toscano, Edward Guartuche and Carlos Mungia.
