Ernesto A. De La Cerda

Ernesto De La Cerda, 84, passed away on January 9, 2019. He was born on March 14, 1934 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila to Porfirio De La Cerda and Velia Alfaro. He worked 35 years for his own body repair shop. He retired from his body repair shop and then he became a pastor for The Church of God of Prophecy where he was a lifelong member. Ernesto loved to sing and enjoyed visiting family for the holidays, and never said no to a second serving of any meal. Ernesto is preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings: Porfirio, Nereida, Rodolfo, Rene, Graciela, Rolando and son, Jimmy De La Cerda. He is survived by his wife Delia De La Cerda; his children, Emilio E De La Cerda (Maricela), Dee Barrows, George De La Cerda (Hilda), Martha R. Mitchner (Steve) and Chris Trevino (Joe); 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and extended family, Laura G. De La Cerda. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He will be dearly missed. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a religious service at 7:00 pm that same evening. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Memory Gardens Chapel with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
