

Ernesto was born to Blas A. Sanchez and Josefina M. Sanchez. He graduated from Tuloso Midway High School in 1981. Ernesto married Oralia M. Sanchez in February 2005 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Ernesto worked for over 20 years for the City of Corpus Christi Solid Waste and Water Department. He was commonly referred to as Bulldog by his coworkers.
He was a proud member of the Pentecostal church. Ernesto loved fishing, bbqing, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and family. He also loved to paint and work with his hands, he especially loved to create his own keychains. Ernest was a proud family man and loved spend time with his family, often going on family fishing trips, having BBQ cookouts with everyone, having holiday get togethers, and playing games such as scrabble and all types of card games. Ernest will especially be remembered for being the biggest goofball. He was always laughing and making anyone and everyone around him laugh and smile with his smart and witty humor, and funny life stories.
Ernesto is preceded in death by his parents Blas A. Sanchez and Josefina M. Sanchez.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Oralia M. Sanchez, children: Sabrina Calderon (Juan Calderon), Bekka Watkins Sanchez, Jesse Luna, Ernesto Sanchez Jr. (Angelica Sanchez), and John P. Sanchez. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Richard Calderon, Ernesto Sanchez III, Mia Rose Sanchez, Robert Blas Sanchez. He also leaves his siblings: Blas Sanchez (Gloria Sanchez), Eli Sanchez (Nora Sanchez), and Gabriel Sanchez.
The family would like to thank all of his friends and coworkers for all the support and words of affirmation and comfort that has been given. Ernesto loved all of his family and his friends, and he will be greatly missed by all of us.

A visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, located at 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, TX, 78415, on January 26, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A prayer service will take place at the same location on January 26, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service is scheduled for January 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A reception will be held at the same venue from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on January 27, 2026.
