Esiquiel was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Esiquiel will be remembered as a very exceptional person. To his children the best father and to his son-in-laws, the greatest father-in-law. He was dedicated and a hard worker. Showing a strong work ethic, Esiquiel worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary profession was in Transportation as a Truck Driver. Esiquiel enjoyed his leisure time by being with family. He was a man of God and served his church. He had a love for fast cars.
Simply stated, Esiquiel was a humble, and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. He jokes and smiles will live on, especially his infamous saying, “Let's rob a bank and can you lend me $1000.” Esiquiel will continue to shine in the hearts of his family and friends. He leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
Esiquiel is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Emma Mungia; children, Esiquiel Muniga Jr., Elvia(Ray) Longoria, and Esmeralda(Jesus) Lopez; grandchildren, Ronnie, Amanda, Michelle(Joey), Christian, Ezra(Johnathan), Leeah, Isabella and Esiquiel “EJ” III; great grandchildren, Mallory, Marcos Antonio, Jaime Jr., Jaelynn, Nathen, Elizabeth, Arianna and Jonathan Erin III; siblings, Alicia(Albert), Martha, Belma(Mike), and Adelita(Adam); 21 godchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews’, extended family and friends left to cherish his memory.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Longoria, Esiquiel Mungia Jr., Jesus Lopez, Christian Longoria, Valentin Gomez, and Moises Gomez. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathen Mungia and EJ Mungia.
A visitation for Esiquiel will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 5:00pm-9:00pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Cheyenne, 549 Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, Texas. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 1:00pm with his interment scheduled to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
