Esperanza R Garcia

Esperanza R. Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was called home by the Lord on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the age of 70, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 12, 1942 in Freer, Texas to Elvira Ramirez Arroyos and adopted by Pedro and Manuela Perez. Esperanza enjoyed cooking and singing for her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Julian d. Garcia, Sr.; she will be greatly missed by all her children: Julian D. Garcia, Jr., Joyce (Sonny) Garcia, JoAnn (Joey) Soto, Jessica Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas and Joel (Stephanie) Garcia of San Antonio, Texas, grandchildren: Joey “JoJo” Soto, Matthew C. Garcia, Joshua Soto, Marcus Garcia, Johnathan Garcia, Jade Garcia, Mark Angelo Opiela and Lillian Garcia; granddaughters, Teresa Soto, Raelyn and Ava Flores. She is also survived by her sisters, Melba Sanchez, Mary Hernandez and Anna Elva Ramirez.

Special thanks to the respiratory department and nurses at Dubuis Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas and the ICU nurses who took great care of Esperanza at North East Methodist in San Antonio, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly with a prayer service at 7:00 pm that evening. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly Chapel with interment to follow at Memory Gardens.
